Purifics has been awarded a purchase order by the Commodore Cove Improvement District (CCID) in Freeport, TX for the purchase of a drinking water purification system. The equipment to be provided by Purifics consists of its patented ceramic ultra-filtration system (CUF®) to remove trihalomethane precursors from the source water.
Louis Snider, a spokesperson for CCID, stated that “the District is looking forward to the installation of the CUF® system to achieve and maintain compliance with both Federal and State regulations for TTHMs.”
Under the purchase order from CCID, Purifics will furnish and install a single CUF® M16 system. The M16 system is designed to handle flow rates equal to or greater than that of CCID, which is 65,000 gallons per day (gpd).
The CUF® system offers a completely integrated solution with the benefits of SCADA, self-sufficiency, autonomy of spares sourcing, reduced system complexity, and proven durability, that is easy to operate because of its simplicity.
Brian Butters, President of Purifics, stated that “the CCID installation will be the sixth Purifics ceramic membrane system installed in a U.S. drinking water facility.” Butters noted that Purifics has installations in several other states, including Vicksburg, MS, which has been operating successfully since 2015.
Butters said that Purifics success in obtaining the opportunity with CCID was assisted by the firm’s manufacturer’s representative in Texas, WWaterTech Inc. Steve Holt, President of WWaterTech, noted that “WWaterTech is looking forward to ensuring that the CCID installation is successful and installing additional CUF® systems in Texas.”
Purifics has been developing and applying ceramic ultra-filtration for over 25 years. Investing a significant portion of its annual revenues in R&D, Purifics has achieved 5th generation ceramic membranes and the CUF® (Ceramic Ultra-Filtration) process innovation with proven performance. This is a quantum leap forward in membrane filtration, yielding benefits other membrane processes cannot match in terms of comparative performance. Gen5 is the integration of unmatched advanced technology attributes to achieve; low TMP & X-flow pressures, high flux and the resistance or elimination of fouling mechanisms. The CUF® ceramic membrane is a robust, durable design that eliminates concerns of wear, fracture, thermal shock, high parts count, organic bonding, channelling, and energy.
